Growing a beard is a right of passage. And as hard as it can sometimes be to grow one, maintaining one is often harder. But it doesn't have to be. Maintaining a healthy, comfortable and stylish beard is actually easy once you know how.

The most important thing is to keep the hair and skin clean, healthy, soft and comfortable - everything else will follow! So here are my 4 top beard and skin health tips.

Head only shot of man washing his hair in the shower

1) Work out a cleaning schedule that works for you. You don't need to wash your beard with soap every single day. I generally recommend using a soap or shampoo in your beard every 2-3 days and washing WELL with warm water on all other days. (Of course, if it needs a deeper clean then do it as often as is needed!)

2) STOP using regular hair shampoo and switch to a specialist and natural beard shampoo/soap. Regular shampoos and soaps strip the natural oils and dry out the beard hair and skin and can cause beard dandruff and itchiness. (Beard shampoo and soap is the beardsmith speciality!)

3) Add a beard oil to your daily routine. After washing your beard add just a couple of drops of beard oil and massage through. This will moisturise the beard hair and the skin underneath keeping it soft and gentle! You can use Beardsmith oils as often as you like in a dry or slightly damp beard as they are natural and compliment the bodies natural oils.

4) Make things super easy for yourself by removing all other shampoo's and soaps from your routines!! Beardsmith products are designed for beards but are amazing in head hair and all over. So keep things simple and switch to Beardsmith! Once you've tried it you won't go back to standard products.

What do you think? Are these simple tips something you can integrate into your routine? Will it makes things easier? Let me know!
